The Hitchhiker’s Guide to Lean reviews

by Jamie Flinchbaugh on 11-24-10

I am thankful for many things. One is the many great reviews that The Hitchhiker’s Guide to Lean has received on Amazon.com Here are some of the highlights:

“…one of very few books on lean enterprise on the market today that really, really “gets it”…” – Thomas Jackson

“…it’s one of the best books on showing how lean needs to be a way of thinking…” – Liz Guthridge

“…The ONLY lean book with a focus on thinking vs tools!…” – Kurt Woolley

“…none has proven as handy or as insightful as “The Hitchhiker’s Guide to Lean” for me…” – Steven Nagy

“… The book covers every thing from kaizen to strategy deployment to accounting…” – M. Wyre

“… This is the kind of book that will not gather dust on your shelf…” – Sojourner

“…Every re-read and future reference will reveal deeper knowledge and continued learning…” – Kevin Yamada

“… one of the few books that explains what it truly means to be a Lean Organization…” – Mark Evans

“… I wish I had this book when I first started my Lean journey…” – Ryan Blanchette

“… It does a good job of filling in the blanks left by other lean books …” – Mark Graban

If you have read the book and haven’t added your own review, both myself and future readers would appreciate your comments.

  • Jamie;
    I’ve used this book extensively with approximately 150 team members for our lean book club process. Our book club process combined with the Hitchhiker Guide really connected with the team members in the office areas who had felt disconnected from the true meaning of lean. The number of positve comments given as feedback would be to numerous to list. It has truly helped change the way the front side of our business thinks. We’ll be wrapping up our last couple of groups in the first quarter of next year. The value in the message connects with many on several different levels. I also left an Amazon review earlier in the year. Great book!
